My experience here so far is that Tinycore 3.0 boots and runs quite happily from a Compact Flash card connected to the 44-pin IDE connector.
A downside(?) of the CA19 is that the two USB ports are on the front, so, if you decide to (or need to) run with pen drive it's not tucked out of the way around the back.
