The unit requires a 12V supply. If yours came without one a unit can be easily sourced. I bought a 12V 3A unit on ebay that was advertised as being a replacement one for an LCD display. I'm not too sure of the exact dimensions required for the plug, but a 5.5mm external 2.1mm internal plug seems to fit.
I believe the board uses the Geode single-chip solution SC2200 processor. This includes a GX1 core, most of the stuff from a CS5530, and a SuperIO section, so it comes as a small surprise that there is actually a separate SuperIO chip on the daughter board.
It doesn't look to be possible. The flash and RAM are soldered to the circuit board and there are no sockets. Click here or on the photographs for a larger scale view of the circuit boards.
However at the bottom right is a 44-pin IDE connector (2.5" laptop drive size). As yet I haven't really looked at this, but it may provide a method of installing a new operating system by using an IDE to Compact Flash converter.
