I do not have a Sun Ray 1. Photos here have come from elsewhere. As far as I'm aware nobody has 'repurposed' a Sun Ray. The Sun Ray 1 was launched in 1999.

The Sun Ray 1 has an internal supply with a standard IEC connector. It would appear that in a similar fashion to Neoware thin clients these PSUs often failed due to capacitor failure. This article shows you how to fix them.
The Processor is a MicroSparc.
There are no upgradeable parts fitted. It's interesting to contrast this 1999 design with the 2006 circuit board in the Sun Ray 2.
Various photos of a disassembled Sun Ray 1 used to be found at the site https://wiki.raydesk.com/ [December 2016: Link not working so disabled].
