Disassembly
This is how I took my AG6601 apart, it may not necessarily be the correct way.
Basically the outer plastic cover consist of two pieces that clip together. In
practice I could not see any way of encouraging the clips to come apart other than
the application of brute force. My AG6601 survived, YMMV.
First step is to remove the foot (if fitted). This is just a push fit onto the
bottom of the housing and is held in place by four clips - two each end. My foot
detached without too much effort
I found placing a thumb on the top edge at the rear of the case and then pushing upwards
on both sides at the same time seemed to work quite well.
After this the top (smaller) section of the case could be lifted clear.
As to the actual mechanism holding the case together, the lower (larger)
half of the case has the protruding tabs which you hopefully see in the
photo. (Black on black is not ideal!). There are two on the short edges
near each corner. The long edge on the front includes a third one in the
centre.
The tabs match up to these slots in the upper (smaller) half of the case. In retrospect I
might have been better pressing in on the side of the top (smaller) half of the case near
the rear corners as this might have encouraged the slots/tabs there to disengage more easily.
With the top part of the case out of the way a layer of EMC shielding is revealed. This
is held in place with four screws.
With the metallic shielding removed all is revealed!
