On power up the F10 key will get you into the BIOS.
For BIOS version(s) see the BIOS versions page.
My example was running BIOS v01.03. I upgraded to v01.12 (sp101848.exe) with the following steps:
On a Windows machine:
Move across to the t630.
Emma reports:
Mine came with BIOS version v1.05, but the latest as of this writing is v1.12. I upgraded it, but there were no new options I saw, so it was only bug fixes. It didn't affect Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Server from booting.
There is one issue with missing memory, similar to the T620. I shrunk it as much as possible and both Ubuntu and ESXi both reported only 31.7 GB available, but since it's a 256M frame buffer that makes sense.
In September 2023 I heard from Albrecht who was wanting to boot his t630 from the internal USB port and wondered how.
Unfortunately, as far as I can determine, it wont. There is nothing that I can see in the BIOS settings that would affect this.
You can explore this by using the F9 key on power-up that brings up the boot menu. Populate the USB sockets how you like you will find that the USB drive fitted in the internal socket does not appear as a boot option. Move it to one of the external ports and does appear.
In 2017 researchers discovered a vulnerability in the generation of RSA keys used by a software library adopted in cryptographic smartcards, security tokens and other secure hardware chips manufactured by Infineon Technologies AG. The t630 is affected by this.
If this is of concern to you full details can be found on the TPM page.
