Windows 11
Patrick, a Linux user, had a special label printer. Unfortunately there were no
Linux drivers available for it, only Windows drivers. His answer was to put together
a small t610 based solution to deal with the issue.

For the hardware I bought a used HP t610 thin client for 20€ on eBay. Having one
lying about I installed a 240GB SSD and removed the factory installed 16GB one. Also
in my spares box was a Sitecom WLA-2103 USB wireless
adapter which I added to the t610. (Labelled as 'N300' by Device Manager).
For the OS, as I had a very specific requirement, I built a tailored 64-bit version
of Windows 11 using Tiny11. Amongst the various benefits of using Tiny11 was that it
removed the 'minimum hardware requirements' restriction imposed by a standard Windows 11 install.
Other than the one for the WLAN the necessary drivers were all
installed automatically. It was no problem to manually download and install the final
one for the USB WLAN.
In practice the Windows 11/t610 takes about 2 minutes to boot up. The CPU is running
between 80% and 100% most of the time. With this setup (Tiny 11 and the t610) I find that
Firefox runs very smoothly. It loads the labels from the online portal and then prints them
effortlessly.

Tiny11: "There are a few programs out there that allow you to remove some of the
bloat that bogs down Windows 11, but what if you want a truly fresh start? That's where
Tiny11, a fan project, comes in. This modification of Windows 11 removes almost everything
Microsoft installs on Windows 11, offering an operating system that's much lighter on
resources, whether that's storage or overall performance."
